Bite me!
I have an electric toothbrush, and have found that if I press it against my teeth and hold it there then the vibrations of my jaw make me ‘hear’ it in my ear very loudly. This sensation is quite amazing, and by pressing harder or softer I can vary the note.
It has become somewhat of a personal challenge to see if I can sing the note, and keep the pressure steady whilst doing it. Slight variations in pressure and pitch cause phasing (and beats) between the notes - all of which adds up to an amazing (if avant garde) symphony in my head each morning and evening in my bathroom.
Yesterday I discovered that singing a (major third) harmony above the toothbrush is even more amazing, and was as close to heaven as I have found myself in the bathroom yet this year.
The whole thing is akin to ‘overtone singing’ (a.k.a. throat singing) - my attempts at which cause Sarah much amusment, followed by much anger when I refuse to stop.
Rest assured that the forthcoming ButterflyPolite will not contain any of my new experimental art composition (which I am tentatively calling “Aural hygene”).
i too have electric and find this amazing… new to singing as i am, still hours of fun to be had, and the dentist is happy…
